Absolut Les Arcs

I am back from one of the best Xmas trips ever!! Although one of the most tiring holidays I've ever had, being up in the mountains for Christmas was damn near amazing! Right now I'm very much missing the fact that I used to be able to see snow out the window, and that in London there is no squeaky crunch underneath your feet. Not to mention the falling over and being greeted by white powdery bliss.

Skiing was a lot of fun, even though it took me a while to get the hang of it. I feel very accomplished now that I can safely (more or less) get down a blue slope without having to fall my way down there, and even more pleased with myself because I haven't sustained any significant bruising whatsoever. Go me!!

I also came to appreciate how important it is to be prepared. Mei Wan got a little knocked about during the trip, and if I hadn't brought all the things I did, I probably wouldn't have been able to make any difference at all. I just hope I did manage to make her feel a little better =(

I also got to meet a lot of new people, which was cool, and got to know other people better, which was well, even better. I'd love to go on holiday with friends more often actually, especially now that this year time spent with friends is so limited. A holiday is a good way to bring people closer together.

Overall, it was a good trip, but I'm exhausted. Won't be going off for a white water rafting holiday or anything any time soon. I'm not much of an outdoors-y girl, but I'd like to try and be a bit more adventurous. I'd like to at least be able to say that I tried =P

One thing that made everything certainly worthwhile though, was being able to eat the delicious crepe that you see above. Ever been to the creperie down the road from uni? This is the real deal FRENCH made Norweigian Crepe, and ohmygod was it AMAZING. By far the best thing i tasted the whole holiday. See that salmon? It goes right round to the edges inside with a melted cheese sauce to diiiie for. I shall never look at a crepe the same way again.

I definitely want to go back to France again, if anything to give my French speech a bit more of a workout. And to give my taste buds a bit of a treat too =P

For now, plain old london english and home-cooked meals ( I had nasi ayam last night mmmmmm ) will just have to suffice. Wishing you all a Eid Mubarak, Joyeux Noel, et Bonne Année!!
