Steel

The last of the 2-Day sleep-depriving, stress-inducing, enemies-making, generic-civil-engineering-hating Design Projects - OVER.

[insert song of praise here, perhaps Hallelujah!]

Non-civil engineers cannot possibly understand the pain of 2-Day Design Projects. They are only second to the Silwood Surveying Field Trip, or as I like to call it: Civil Engineering Prison Camp.

I had to design for a entire steel structure including engineering drawings in two days. I've been sitting in my department from 9am-11pm yesterday and from 9-5 today with a pen, calculator and a stack of calculation sheets. Whoever said that this project was fun was chatting b*ll*cks. The only fun bit was having to draw the thing at lightning speed within the last couple of hours, and that was only fun coz I was glad I had someting substantial to hand in by then. That's two days of my life gone.

I'm incredibly elated that it's over, but my body has finally decided that it needs to shut down and sleep. Which I will do. Soon.

In this stupor of joy and sleepiness, and after being able to tick such a huge box next to this project, I can't help but notice lots of other things that need to be done. I mean besides Mnight. As you can probably tell from previous entries, something has been on my mind, but I am determined not to resolve it, since I shouldn't have to.

Oh but 2-Day Design Project of Doom = over!! Big smiles on MY face.
