9inja Special

It's that time of year where I draw to distract myself from work. Last year I drew a picture of myself as a ninja (all the way back here) and I sketched a couple of my other friends as ninjas, but never coloured them. Guess what, I finally have!

So I bought some harem pants recently and I realised after colouring these in that I ended up drawing the exact same pants that I drew myself in last time! (Please excuse my fluffy hair)


So weird, I had totally forgotten about this picture as well. I was planning on tie dying them funky colours, but because of my drawing I think I'll keep them as they are now!

Yes, those are pencil claws.

Guilty Pleasures.

I've been really naughty. Instead of cramming in three modules worth of knowledge in the very little time I have left, I have been drawing. I can't help it. I do this all the time. Having something important to do always makes me creative doing something else. It's like I feel guilty having brainless fun so I do something constructive instead. Like learn a song on the guitar. Make a website. Get Tanzania sorted. Draw a comic.

I have this idea for a comic with some of my friends in it, in one day I managed to give them all a different character. I doodled them first and then I ended up drawing myself nicely and colouring the whole lot it :$ I have no plot yet though. Watch this space.

When worlds collide

Do you ever feel ever-so-slightly knocked off your feet when things you've come to know VERY seperately suddenly merge into one big ball of omg-theyknoweachother-interrelated-backfromthepast-wtf sort of.. thing..?

One of the very first webcomics I ever came to like was called Return To Sender, back in 2003. I liked it so much I saved every single panel just as a keepsake. It was written by a mysterious girl who never left her name, and I would be visiting every so often until she updated with a new panel, although I secretly hated it because I'd always want to know what happened next.

But one day, she just stopped updating.

I was going through my old pictures and found them in a folder. I wondered if she ever got round to updating, because I eventually forgot to keep checking and moved on to other comics. I found the website again, and she had updated in 2007, but only to say that she'd lost interest in the comic she created, and has moved on to bigger and better things. To my surprise I found out that at the time she was only 16 when she wrote that comic. Only two years older than me. It's amazing to think that she had so much imagination.



I went to have a look at the kind of artwork she does now, and I must say she has grown as an artist. Not only that, she's now a storyboard artist, and has been working on the movie production of Coraline, a story written by Neil Gaiman!


It's such a strange feeling to be really happy for her. It's like meeting someone again after 6 years and seeing them all grown up! Except for the meeting her part, because of course I've never known her. But oh-my-goodness! all the same.

I don't expect you to find this funny, but it just reminds me of Imperial people lol.

I've met quite a few Gregs in the past few years. Some people in Imperial are a combination of a few. I have yet to meet a well developed combination of all four :P

In other news I am going to watch the preview screening of WATCHMEN on the 5th of March =D aaaah I am very excited. I have been waiting for this movie for a whole YEAR. I really hope they don't screw this up, because it's based a very reknowned comic, and the story is so awesome that screwing anything up would make many comic readers very unhappy. Hoardes of comic store geeks lighting up their USB powered gadgets in a raging angry mob.. shudder at the thought.
