Our new podcasts have features on Formula 1, Burj Khalifa and an interview with Head of Department of EEE, Peter Cheung.

At the Engineering Impact lecture two weeks ago titled "The Engineering Debate" a panel that consisted of Head of Departments, a chaplain and the President of the Debate team took part in an interactive discussion to persuade the audience on whether or not those engineering students who had turned their backs on engineering to the financial industry had effectively "sold their souls". Peter Cheung was also on this panel and I have to say did put forth some very good arguments against this, and the other two topics of debate: whether or not we should discourage engineering graduates to work for military purposes, and if the engineering degrees are too specialised at Imperial. A vote was cast after the debate and revealed that the majority of the audience did not think that engineering students sold their souls by leaving engineering for the harlot that is the city. Clearly there weren't enough Civ Engers or EWB-ers in the audience.

Don't forget to listen to my voice on the Burj Khalifa podcast - it took longer to edit that I promised.
