Happy Things of Autumn Term

Posted: Friday, 30 October 2009 | Posted by Aimi | Labels: , , , , 1 comments

Past happy things (click to enlarge):

1. Up close and personal; front row with VVBrown
2. Tanzanian food in London with Tanzania crew
3. Stratford at sunset
4. Untamed natural beauty; Dartmoor
5. Sneaky peek; Olympic 2012 Stadium
6. Doubled EWB interest at Fresher's Fair
7. Best dressed orchestra; Four Seasons at Royal Albert Hall.

More recent happy things:
  1. Tana special; EWB outing to Ethiopian restaurant, tastier than last year!
  2. Finding out that one of my favourite US webcomic artists will be coming over to London soon, chyeah!
  3. Securing tickets to see Lady Gaga this morning, woop!
  4. Securing tickets to see Avatar in 3D at IMAX, woop!
  5. Seeing my engineer crush [hearts] he is such a leg-end.
  6. Getting cheer up cuddles from my bebis after a bad week. Obviously better than seeing engineer crush, before you pass judgement at me. There he is looking a bit more dashing than usual.

I need to remind myself of these good times, because job-shopping is getting me down. I wish I could stick the job to the man and tell him to put it where sun doesn't shine. I call it job-shopping because it makes me feel like I have some choice left.

Good Times Shall Roll..

Ah! It's so good to have nothing to do! I think I'm gonna roll out of bed at some point and take a walk to do some shopping. Some window shopping and some Tanzania shopping. Can't believe it's almost time for me to go! It's my birthday on tuesday. I dreamt people were late for my party. Humph. Don't be late any of you!

I'm having a little fangirl moment because one of my favourite comic book artists replied to me on twitter :$ :) And as a result my username is temporarily on the front page of the webcomic. *mini-squee*

I also had a lovely time at the Civsoc End-of-Year Party! Tickets were only 5 quid and we had a 3 course meal, a champagne reception and a free bar. Not that I took much advantage of this lol. I had never been out with so many people on my course before; and now I know why.

Apart from the crazy drunkeness (and some awful dancing) I never realised how much drama there is in our class! I think the events of that night will be the topic of much gossip, and I am slightly dreading the Constructionarium now that there is a certain awkwardness between me and one of my group members. I knew I stayed away from civengers for a reason :s They say you should never mix business with pleasure. Ho hum.

But here are photos of civengers who I am very glad I am friends with. Can't believe it's been 3 years already!

If All You've Got To Do Today...

I've quite literally been at home the past few days doing nothing in the most glorious fashion. And have been reliving the 90s :P

Two songs that have been buzzing in my ear lately:

When I was ten I was a secret Billie Piper fan. It was much cooler to proclaim your love for BSB or N'Sync back then. But come on, for those Billie haters, she was our only answer to Britney Spears. At least she never had a psychotic breakdown. Okay, both have had their share of problems in the past. But now one's feeding off her recent publicity by going on a megatour around the world and raking in everyone's money, and the other's a successful tv actress playing the belle du jour. Wait, that didn't come out right. Billie's happily married with a newborn baby and a career, while Britney has her showgirl act (and her wonder years) left to keep her afloat.

Oh whatever. I still don't like Britney.

Today.

Yesterday, my time wasn't very productive at all. I went out for about 5 hours: 2 travelling, 1 shopping, 2 "studying". I then gave up and didn't do much for the rest of the night, watched tv and ate Laksa Johor [mmmmmm].

I finally managed to tell Him how I feel about things. I guess I wasn't able to before because in my head the things I felt seemed unreasonable. But as time went on I still felt that way, so I must do for a reason. I finally managed to draw out more rational reasons when He confronted me yesterday. So I suppose it wasn't so irrational after all. As to how he's taking it, I'm not very sure.

On a lighter note:

I smell of smoke.
My hair is full of beer.
My legs are bruised.
I need a shower.
I've been on my feet for about 10 hours.
But was it the best fun ever!!

I am of course talking about Give it a Name 07 at Earl's Court. It was pretty awesome. There were ALOT of bands I ashamedly do not know, but good chance to listen to some new music. In my experience with my camera, there is not point making a video because there's a lot of noise and the music never comes through. So, we shall have to make do with photos:

I thought it looked more exciting in a slideshow.

By the end of the night, my shoes looked like this:

My legs are a bit bruised because people stepped back on them lol. But tis allll good. Okay I'm going to some work now!! 4 weeks to learn a whole year. Let's Go!!
