Lily says it's not over yet. Don't be that 30 year old.

Got love for you if you remember the 90s, the 90s.

This is what quality britpop used to sound like. Things churned out like Sugarbabes have never matched up vocally or lyrically to the likes of All Saints.

With the exception of when they still had Siobhan, and released 'Overload':

However,we were unfortunately at the time also subject to the likes of these guys:

I Won't Even Start.

David Choi is my favourite artist on youtube. He is famous for not smiling. EVER. But his voice is lovely. After all the videos of just him and his guitar, he's made an actual music video! Hooray!

(Wong Fu Productions also made that Yellow Fever video! :p)

Can't Read My Poker Face

Posted: Thursday, 5 February 2009 | Posted by Aimi | Labels: 0 comments

I like music. Especially when it's free.

The Shockwaves Album Chart Show
was filming at KOKO Camden, and I just happened to be at my inbox on Tuesday afternoon for a free ticket :)

Lady Gaga
VV Brown

And above is some band who I recognise one song but I still can't Google their name. I suck I know. Their song is called Wonderful? It's on the radio a lot these days. Anyway, 'twas a good way to spend Wednesday night. Better than trying to MATLAB my Coastal Engineering coursework through the night.

N Dubz was performing too but I didn't stay. I was afraid I might start laughing at the kid that wears the silly hats with one flap up all the time. In one of the videos he's got like a ski hat on like the one I own, and one of the flaps is sticking determinedly upwards, like its the coolest thing since Nelly's band aid.

Lady Gaga was pretty good, I was amazed that she could dance for real and that her video wasn't lying. She was dancing in a shiny bikini and complaining that she must have lost weight because her pants kept falling down. I will attempt to upload a video of Lady Gaga's half nakedness, but if it doesn't work, sorry.

If All You've Got To Do Today...

I've quite literally been at home the past few days doing nothing in the most glorious fashion. And have been reliving the 90s :P

Two songs that have been buzzing in my ear lately:

When I was ten I was a secret Billie Piper fan. It was much cooler to proclaim your love for BSB or N'Sync back then. But come on, for those Billie haters, she was our only answer to Britney Spears. At least she never had a psychotic breakdown. Okay, both have had their share of problems in the past. But now one's feeding off her recent publicity by going on a megatour around the world and raking in everyone's money, and the other's a successful tv actress playing the belle du jour. Wait, that didn't come out right. Billie's happily married with a newborn baby and a career, while Britney has her showgirl act (and her wonder years) left to keep her afloat.

Oh whatever. I still don't like Britney.

Paper Planes Again.

Paper Aeroplane - KTunstall

Well this stone that I have swallowed
Isn't going down so well
And this road that I have followed
Is leading me to Hell

And you said it didn't matter
But I think you're a liar
Is this one of your talents
That stokes the very fire that burns you
Each time you try to live

And the earth will turn below you
The pressure is building
And something has to give
Oh something has to give

And when I build you a steeple
You say it's incomplete
'Cause you need the whole cathedral
To satisfy the need

And you're like a paper aeroplane
That never seems to land
Flying blind through anything
Straight into the hand that chokes you
Each time you try to live

And the earth will turn below you
The pressure is building
And something has to give
Oh something has to give

Me looking about as Camden-Town as I get. Sorry you had to see it.
iChoons Bestival at KOKO Camden tonight: 'twas very good. I won tickets to see two very indie bands a blonde reggae girl who did a very nice acoustic set. I think you can catch it at some point on ITV, I don't know when yet, might have to check the website.

iTunes Festival 2008 at KOKO Camden
Peggy Sue and the Pirates! Lovely duo which resonate Kate Nash, very anti-soul.
Peggy Sue and the Pirates. Really liked them! But I have to admit, might not be everyone's cup of tea =)
Performing their song 'Escargot'
Ava Leigh is from Chester, think of a Reggae Amy Winehouse.
She had a really nice voice. Her songs were awesome in acoustic.

Indie band from the USA called The Little Ones

They were realllly cute, quite excited to be there, even though they'd been to london before.
Quite a cool band...I've been stuck on their myspace since I got home!

Impossible

- Shout Out Louds

I don't wanna feel like I don't have a future
I don't wanna feel like it's an end of a summer
Let's not fall back to sleep like we use to
I don't wanna wake up knowing I don't have a future

Impossible, impossible
Impossible!
Your love is something I cannot remember

I don't wanna spend another day in this city
I woke up thirsty it's hard to go back, you know
Let's not fall back to sleep like we use to, do you remember
I don't wanna wake up knowing I don't have a future

And I know it's..
Impossible, impossible

Impossible!
Your love is something I cannot remember

And that's the first time and second time you got to hold on
Did you know it could happen to you
Your love is something I cannot remember
I don't wanna see the same pictures all over
And I've been standing on the same spot now since it's been over
Could some one promise me a new chance, as you promised
I don't wanna wake up knowing I don't have a future

And I know it's..
Impossible, impossible

Impossible!
Your love is something I cannot remember

And that's the first time and second time you got to hold on
Did you know it could happen to you
Your love is something I cannot remember

Your love is, impossible!
Impossible, impossible

You're just like your mother
I'm just the same as the others
Do you believe everything they write in all those magazines
Stay out of love until your ready
Stay out of it 'cause it scares you
you'll still find your lover beside the public library

I know it could happen to you
I know it could happen to you
I know it could happen to you
I know, did you, it could happen to you
I know it could happen to you
I know it could happen to you

And I know its
Impossible, impossible

Impossible!
Your love is something I cannot remember

And that's the first time and second time you got to hold on
Did you know it could happen to you

Your love is something I cannot remember

Your love is, impossible!
Impossible, impossible

It's impossible!
Impossible, impossible

It's the first time and second time you got to hold on
The first time and second time
It's the first time and second time

Impossible, impossible
Impossible!

She's a bit of a youtube star, if you've seen David Choi's little vlogs and covers you might have seen her before. Chloe Temtchine (myspaceyoutube) has got this lovely enchanting yet soulful voice which the acoustics of the room she plays in doesn't quite do justice. The fact that she's a bit of a beauty hasn't hurt her youtube ratings either.

Aimi likes her. Chloe Temtchine = yay.

ps. David Choi - Love

I just really love Kylie in this video. And I salute her for still being here after so long, for getting through her tribulations and coming back fighting.

All Angels were on the BBC Breakfast News this morning, and they sang a bit for the newsreaders. It was so beautiful they made my morning.

You know when you've hit some sort of low, when inane chart music suddenly becomes relevant, and much desirable to be listened to.

Lol, I'll tell you when that happens. I have often wished I could sing like Kelly Clarkson. Just about the only good thing that ever came out of 'reality tv'. This should take you back to a time when we were shouting "Hurrah! Finally someone people haven't wasted their time voting for!" Oh, she was saviour from all the British popstars/pop idol/fame academy failures. I don't flipping care if it was an American who got it right. Kelly Clarkson is teh shiz.

We could keep trying
But things will never change
So I don't look back
Still I'm dying with every step I take
But I don't look back

Whether or not this is listened to I don't particularly mind. But if I were making one, this is my mixed tape. (Hint: it sounds better when you turn it up louder :P)

And finally, because I wasn't able to download it:

Hello

Posted: Tuesday, 7 August 2007 | Posted by Aimi | Labels: 0 comments

I'm a bit behind lol, I was supposed to blog this yesterday. I went to HMV yesterday to get the Kate Nash album. But not just any HMV, I went to Oxford Street, to say hey to Kate Nash! =)

She did a little half hour set or so, jumped around at her keyboard, and then sat down to do some signing =)
She was really sweet. I just said hey, wished her luck on her new record, asked to smile, to which she obliged and I was on my way. Oh and my album was signed too. The record is pretty cool, I can see why she likes New Young Pony Club. She's going to signify everything fun in the current indie scene - whenever people look back they'll be thinking, oh yeah Kate Nash she was awesome!

Lol, don't hold me to that. But she's hit it big with the youths (I don't really fall into that category any more *sob*) so she'll be around for a little while I think, if she keeps it up.

More music!! Bat For Lashes - Moon And Moon. If you youtube them, they have videos that freak me out. But I didn't want to post them coz I didn't want to freak myself out when I visited my blog haha. This video is not freaky though, fear not.
